Lepu Medical has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Intel: Launching a new era of artificial intelligence application on healthcare.
On May 15. 2019, an Intel Medical AI Forum was hosted at the 81st China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF). Internationally renowned Al application experts, medical device and information specialists, top management of medical device manufacturers attended the forum and shared their views on the rise of artificial intelligence, its future, and challenges ahead.
One of the forum events was the formal establishment of the Lepu-Intel cooperation. The signing was conducted by Mr. Wei Zhanjiang, the Vice General Manager, and Dr. Cao Jun, the General Manager of Telehealth Business Group from Lepu Medical; Mr. Bob Ferrar, the General Manager of the IoTG, and Mr. Li Hujie, the Customer Manager of IoTG from Intel China.

According to Mr. Liu Chang, CTO of Lepu Medical AI, the Lepu's inhouse developed AI-ECG has both FDA clearance and CE certification. The AI-ECG provides preeminent services for cardiovascular disease patients. The platform is used by over 2,000 hospitals across thirty-one provinces in China. Intel's innovative OpenVINO toolkit and variety AI-inference ready chips, will enhance the AI-ECG’s high performance in end-to-end solution and convenient deployment to target hardware.
Mr. David Ryan, the General Manager of Intel Medical and Life Science Business Group, stated this was Intel first strategic cooperation with a Chinese healthcare company. He was very optimistic and confident about this momentous cooperation.
At the event, Lepu's Vice General Manager, Mr. Wei, also mentioned that medical AI technology can significantly improve treatment, diagnosis efficiency and accuracy, and alleviate unbalanced distribution of medical resources. Lepu Medical has established a cardiovascular disease industrial ecosystem, covering medical devices, medicines, services, and emergent healthcare businesses. The Lepu-Intel cooperation signifies the growing collaborative and progressing development of Al in healthcare.
